| Description | : | ....It featured marble, granite, brick, fireproof iron and steelgirders. Beaux Arts ornamentation included terracota arches and copper cornices. The building is one of several on Palafox Street that can be associated with the Chicago school of architecture for commercial buildings. Such buildings were built on advances made in new technology and materials to produce the skeleton-framed skyscraper that would transform cities around the world. |
